Last Monday we were unable to hold our annual family Halloween party because my husband was working that evening. I was tempted to just dress up with the kids and go trick or treating, but it would not be the same. I bought lots of lollies to prepare for trick or treaters coming by, but there was no one! So sad, was hoping to see little kids dressed up.
So Saturday evening I planned a little party of our own. I decorated the house in fake spiderwebs, candles, scary spiders and baked some Halloween cupcakes. There was jelly with jelly snakes and lollies of course. We had lots of fun dressing up and playing in the dark with torches. Sofia wore a pink fairy dress that I sewed for her, I was Cirno (a fairy) from Daisouyei (my costume was incomplete because I ran out of time!), I sewed a felt toad hat for Leo but he kept on taking it off because it was covering his eyes (too big I think) and Fernando wore my felt Mario hat (which I wrote about in my previous entry).
Here are some photos we took on the night, it was a lot of fun even though it was just the 4 of us. We played hide and seek in the dark and shadow puppets. It’s great to do these things with the kids whilst they are young, they have wild imaginations and just love role playing. Well I must admit, I had a bit too much fun role playing.
