During the CHOGM festivities, Show Me Perth, a website dedicated to showcasing our beautiful little city Perth, ran a competition called ‘Fit for a Queen’. I had heard this competition by accident as I was browsing through the Facebook pages (as you generally do). I visited the city during my La Mer skin consultation (please see my previous blog entry about my La Mer experience) and saw the competition stand, so I couldn’t help but take a quick photo with Sofia.

The day before the Queen’s Barbecue, the winner was announced on Facebook and I was flabbergasted to see my name! The prize is amazing, worth around $1200. Let me tell you the deets…it includes an overnight stay for 2 in a Queen suite at the Parmelia Hilton Perth, plus buffet breakfast at The Globe Restaurant, a premium High Tea package at The George for me and 3 friends, and a Nespresso Citi Z & Milk Coffee machine. I took the kids to the city on Friday andpicked it up from Council House. It was the best day I have had in a while :)
I haven’t heard much about the Nespresso machines besides from word of mouth. All I know about them, is that they use ‘pods’ to make coffee. Not like the traditional ground beans. I’m very curious to see how it works. I love my espresso coffee, so I can’t wait to try this machine out!!
Here are the pictures I took of the prizes:

New toy comes nicely packaged

Must get stuck into the manual before I test this baby out

Interesting booklet on the pods

Delicious looking coffee pods *drools* (reminds me of mini shot glasses)

Straight out of the box and into the light!

Sexiness - up close and personal

Storage compartment for the water, which sits at the back

Mean looking grills

Sitting with its little ‘friend’ the Milk frother

Other prizes - vouchers for The George and Parmelia Hilton Perth
No doubt I will be asking Hubby to read up on the manual. Especially since he known as the ‘Coffee King’ at work. He is the espresso machine whisperer, staff actually become upset if he doesn’t make them a coffee. It’s becoming personal!! Hopefully he can suss out the new toy so we can both sit down and enjoy our lattes together.
How do you take your coffee? Please leave a comment in the section below ;)
