Hi guys, how was your weekend? Hope you got up to lots and relaxed too.
I want to share my latest purchase…and this was a much needed update to my sad and sorry looking wallet. I didn’t really think to change my wallet, until I thought this is probably a reflection of my spending habits and also it may be causing bad luck or bad ‘feng shui’ to carry such a poor looking wallet.
My old black Olga Berg served me well…it will be sad to say goodbye to such an old friend. We had many good times out shopping together. And I saw that Marcs was having a sale during my birthday so I thought..why not update my prime accessory with a gorgeous red and gold detailed wallet.
The Olga Berg travelled with me where ever I went, so it was only a matter of time it would fall to bits. This new one is made of leather…so hopefully it will last the wear and tear little longer. There are 16 card sleeves, a coin zipped compartment, another zip pocket on the side and a main zip to stop receipts falling out.
I found all those hidden Maccas (McDonald’s) receipts! Oops..
Do you consider your a wallet an accessory or just a necessity?
Enjoy your Monday!
All stuffed from the Christmas feasting yesterday? Perhaps more eating on Boxing Day? Eating comparison aside…hope you all had a fun time with your loved ones. What did you all get in your Christmas loot? Care to share? I received a few bath goodies, chocolates and an iPad from Hubz.
Also I bought a present to ‘myself’…because this year has been particularly testing for me. So decide I spoil myself with a Marc Jacobs luxury tote from Reebonz (also I had credit that was due to expire and I didn’t want it to go to waste). This was my first experience buying a bag from Reebonz and I was surprised and squealing like a piglet when the package arrived with Mr. Postman.
The box was absolutely gorgeous! I was so impressed by the box, the ribbon and the way they packed the tote as it came in its own soft drawstring bag. So when I am done using the bag for the day, it can go to sleep in its little pouch.
I don’t usually buy nice, shiny things for myself…but this bag seemed appropriately stylish, practical (big compartment with extra room to carry the kids’ things) and it also matches my personality. Which is shiny, casual and a little sporty :)
Please scroll down to see the photos I took whilst unboxing this beauty:
It has only one smaller inner pocket, which is a bummer because all my important little things go in there (such as phone, lip balm, parking tickets etc) and has a tendency to fall out into the bigger pocket. As there are no zips inside.
What goodies did you get for Christmas? Please share in the comments section below.
Have a fun Boxing Day whereever you are in the world!
*This is not a sponsored post. This bag was bought by myself and the review has not been influenced by any other party.
I’ve never been a fan of the chilly temperatures, always a Summer girl at heart. So I have been stocking up on some accessories to pair with my Spring/Summer mood. Some of these items can also be teamed together with a Winter wardrobe, so it makes it more economical whilst enhancing your look all together.
The new season pieces at Lovisa range from pastel geometrics to metallic golds and dramatic blacks. You will also notice edgier pieces with spikes, big colourful stones and statement cuffs. The heavier the stack on your wrists, the better!
Here are a few items I picked up in the Perth city store last week, just because…
Pastel geometrics mixed with gold, it screams ‘Spring Fling’!
This is a spike & crystal necklace, beautiful and edgy at the same time
These came in a pack of three, they are plastic dress rings. I like to wear a different colour combination on my digits each day.
I really hope they will open an online store soon because I so happened to be in the city that day, and it is a very rare trip for me! Little presents in the mail are so much nicer :)
If you can’t get yourself into a Lovisa store right now, you can find some Lovisa items at The Iconic. The Iconic is currently offering $10 off minimum spend of $50 using the codeCFAF10M at the checkout (promotion ends 9th August 2012). They also offer free overnight shipping, so you will get a visit from the postie pretty much the next day if you place your order before 10pm (Sydney-siders) or 2pm (rest of Australia).
Do you like any of the new season trends? What accessories will you be wearing?
Cath Kidston is currently have up to 50% off on their online store. One of their signature pieces is their oil cloth bags. These are available with 30% off for a limited time only. I have always wanted to own a Cath Kidston bag for the stunning fabric and the Vintage design, but I think a new nappy bag has to come first! The designs are about 'Mixing the whimsical, the classic and the nostalgic' . There are some bags in pretty pastel shades that bring the ‘Spring’ mood a little earlier ;) Here are some of my picks from the sale, there are loads more to check out on the website.
Do you own more than one everyday/Main bag?
It’s been a while since I have completed a sewing project. It’s been a bit of a battle sitting down in front of the sewing machine too long with my reach getting further and further from me because of my ‘Buddha’ belly. I can’t keep away from my ‘sewing-sister’ too long though, otherwise I get the sewer’s ‘Itch’.
So…right now I am going through a headband phase. I don’t usually wear headbands, but I love the thought of having a few different patterned ones for when baby arrives.
One particular reason, my hair has grown at legendary speeds due to the pregnancy growth hormone. Plus I had a big chunk of hair snipped off last November in Malaysia and I have noticed it has grown 5 inches longer in the past 8 months. It’s become thick and unruly, but definitely healthy and shinier.
Here is how my headband turned out. I am going to make a matching one for my friend, who is having a birthday soon. This is a perfect present idea for a girlfriend.

I’m sure I wrote a post not too long ago about elegant cocktail rings with bling. Now it’s all about having a large rock, the mineral stone or raw uncut crystal on top of your digits. Sometimes these rocks can be mistaken for knuckle dusters, so be mindful not to bump into anyone who won’t be so forgiving!
Two rocks are never alike! Beautified by mother nature, it is a definite possibility that you can own a special unique piece of the earth for yourself. Each individual stone would have gone through different temperature, water and pressure treatments caused by natural erosion which results in their unique appearance.
I used to collect raw crystals as a little girl. My favourites were Amethyst and Rose Quartz. I believed they had healing powers and the ability to bring good spirit into one’s life. It was like my ‘juju’ or good luck charm. Now I think of it, I used to carry a rose quartz in my pocket to hopefully bring love into my life. And now I am surrounded by it :)
How I love these rings at the moment, brings me back to my young and carefree days. The Blue Agate Stone Ring from Miss Selfridge would be my favourite pick.
Do you carry around a ‘juju’ to bring you luck, healthy, love etc? Do you believe in little tokens of good fortune?
I am obsessed with cocktail rings at the moment - anything that is huge, big stoned, in brights, feminine, intricate or even masculine. It becomes a feature point to a whole look and can even be a conversation starter. You can dress up for the day or night and just add a big rock on your finger and you are all set. My favourite is the Samantha Wills Petite High Style ring in Blush, it adds a feminine and soft touch. And the other ring is the ASOS Layered Metal and Stone Ring, I like this because of the geometric shape and futuristic style.
French Connection has launched their Autumn Winter 2011/2012 line and I couldn’t help but notice the glamourous cocktail rings they have in their online shop. This would add instant ‘wow’ factor to a plain LBD (Little Black Dress).
