I have some fantastic news to share! Sew is Life has been shortlisted in the Beauty Heaven BlogStar Awards 2013! Yes, one of my personal blog entries of the ‘Mummy’ kind has been shortlisted in the Mummy Blogger category, alongside my blogger friend Kate. I couldn’t be more honoured to be alongside her in this category and wish her all the best.

No doubt, this year has been a busy year for this mummy…I have learnt so many lessons since having my third, that sometimes you just have to let things be and not sweat on the small stuff. It amazes me the energy I get from running this blog because when you feel passionate about something, you just have to do it otherwise life isn’t sweet (you get my drift?).

I feel absolutely blessed that the Beauty Heaven judges would shortlist my entry.

But now it is over to you guys to lend a hand to this mumma and cast your votes! It would mean so much to have your support.

Plus, Beautyheaven is giving 100 beauty prizes to voters…so there may be a treat in it for you!

A few of my blogger friends have been shortlisted too, so make sure you take a look at their entries and give them a vote ;)

Click here to cast your vote NOW!

Voting closes midnight Wednesday July 31st 2013.

Thank you lovelies!

I filmed this product review at the Parmelia Hilton Hotel, Perth (as mentioned in the previous post). It is so much easier when I don’t have to lock myself away from my kids or put them to bed before I start filming.

This is a review on Nailene So Natural French artificial nails, I received this because I am a member of the Beauty Heaven Video Trial Team. So far, this has been one of the most fun trials yet! What girl doesn’t love looking primped? I was so happy with this trial because the kit is so cheap, easy to use and looks very professional…felt as if I stepped out of a nail salon!

Thanks to Beauty Heaven and Nailene for giving me the opportunity to share this review with you all :) I hope you guys like what you hear and will go out try a packet to pamper yourselves.

P.s/ You too can be a part of the Beauty Heaven trial team. If you would like to become a member and start earning points, please email me (evonleearevalo@gmail.com) and I will send you an invitation to join! You would be helping me to earn points towards Beautorium, so I can buy new products and review them here for my beauty fans at ‘Sew is Life’.

I know some of you guys would be keen to get free products to trial for yourselves ;)

Note: I was not paid for this video review or my comments, the product was merely given to me as a part of a trial.

Just wanna say THANK YOU to everyone for voting for me during the Beauty Heaven BlogStar 2012 Awards. I’m so excited to hear the outcome, and wishing all the other contestants the best. I feel like a winner already with the prizes I received in the mail yesterday!! One prize was for entering the competition and another for being short listed. They are prizes that I will definitely have a lot of fun playing around with…you can never have too many mascaras right? :)

So once again…a very BIG thank you to all you guys out there who showed your LOVE for ‘Sew is Life’! I am so grateful for the support *hugs*

Also a big Thank You to Beauty Heaven, Rimmel and Palmolive for running and sponsoring these awesome awards, because without them ‘Sew is Life’ wouldn’t have been discovered by the rest of Australia. I would still be blogging away in my quiet corner of Perth, with no idea who is reading my blabberings. Well I still am…and will still continue to do what I do…because I really LOVE it!

Lots of Love

E xoxo

Only 3 days left! Now is the time to PANIC!!

I can’t believe it, just over a year of blogging and now ‘Sew is Life’ is being featured in one of the prestigious online beauty websites. It has already been a dream come true…and you should have seen my face when I found I was shortlisted. It was similar to that on the faces of my two munchkins (see photo above).

Layering dark on dark - vampy look perfect for Winter

Best Women’s Lifestyle Blog Post (2 shortlisted entries)

5 tips to keep you organised and happy at home with the kids

The joint baby shower

All you have to do is sign up as a member here and you will be eligible to vote. Beauty Heaven and BlogStar 2012 sponsor Rimmel will be giving away 100 Rimmel prizes. So you can be a lucky winner too just for voting!

I was up last night recording this Video Review on Dove’s Purely Pampering Nourishing Body Wash, courtesy of Beauty Heaven and Dove Australia.

I am so glad to be chosen to be a part of this trial team as I have been a DOVE girl from way back when. Dove has created some really great cult beauty products through out the years. This one is simply luxurious…it was like bathing in clouds!

Watch my video review to find out more on this recently released product from Dove. If you have tried it out yourself, please share your thoughts on it :)

I recently uploaded a new video to Youtube reviewing Lancome’s new lipstick ‘Rouge In Love’. I was very fortunate to be picked to trial such a gorgeous product and it has become my favorite item in the hand bag. No more excuses for a pale and tired looking pregnancy face. Honestly I am one of those women who doesn’t get the glow…I just don’t see it! Lipstick is a lifesaver during these times..

How do you perk yourself up when you are looking tired?

Silly me…I left it till the last minute again to enter the Beauty Heaven Blog Star 2011 competition. Last year I didn’t end up applying because I was just a wimp and I procrastinated. But now when I decided to enter to be in the running for the ‘BlogStar’ title, a measly 6 seconds saw me…pretty much disqualified. They were serious about the 2 minute limit! I can’t be bothered editing it at the moment, so I will just have to wait till next year to have another go.

However, my video is still available for your viewing pleasure. It is all about my favourite holiday must-haves. Sound familiar? This list of top beauty items are from my personal stash. Please have a listen and a laugh :)

Here is my latest video for the Beauty Heaven trial team. I was given the latest Pantene Aqua Light shampoo and conditioner to trial and had to provide a video review. This will be posted up on their website in a couple of weeks, but I’m giving you special access to the premiere! :P

Cat Deeley, the host of ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ US version is the spokesperson for the Pantene Aqua Light range. She has beautiful locks, the perfect ambassador for this particular range. Also the Pantene Aqua Light claims to make your hair ‘swisshable’, it is so light and doesn’t make your hair feel weighed down so you can swish away!

Sorry my video is a bit blur at times, my camera refocused a lot during the filming because of the dim light in my lounge room. Hope you like the review and my own little ‘swish’ at the end. By the way, I almost fell on my bottom doing that swish..

Why not do a little swish today to see how your hair feels. You may want to try Pantene Aqua Light for yourself to see how it works for you.

This is my second video review for BeautyHeaven, I was selected to trial the Nivea Visage Daily Essentials Moisturising Day Cream SPF 15+. Please forgive my limited video editing skills and amateur video reviewing skills…it can only be improved with more practice! Please let me know what you think, good and bad points ;)
