Another person’s treasure! It was a beautiful sunny day in Perth, 25 degrees and it was Market day! I recently found out about the Polka Dot Vintage Market & Antique and Collectors show from the ‘Meet Up’ invites sent by the Perth BurdaStyle Sewers group. The markets are held three times a year at the Claremont Showgrounds, check out the dates here to get down to the next one.
Bits and bobs on sale
No too sure what this is, but it looks like a spray of some sort (if you know please tell me what it is!)
Antique and vintage jewellery and accessories available for purchase
So many things to see there, we gave the school teacher bell a ring too.
I was pleasantly surprised at the choice of wares at the Antique and Collector’s show. There were so many things to see and inspect, my eyes darted furiously around the Pavillion! As I was walking dreamily past the stalls Sofia insisted we walk bacK. She had spotted a beautiful box amongst all the trinkets, I was surprised that my little girl had an eye of a hawk and good taste must I say! It is a wooden box covered in intricate floral patterned leather. It smells of oil and wood, she believes it was once a treasure chest that poured over with gold. I’m sure it housed some gold of some sort, because I wouldn’t mind keeping my jewellery pieces in there.
What we came back with
At the Polka Dot Vintage Markets there were young pretty things selling clothes for both men and women dating back from the 1970’s. Once again, too many gorgeous garments to trudge through! I was inspired by the peter pan collars and eccentric vintage patterns, if only I had more time to sew… However, I came across Birdcage Lifestyle and Devil Sheep Store that sell beautiful retro inspired jewellery and accessories. Check out their Facebook pages to view their current stock. I bought a ‘Be a Rock Star wrist band’ and ‘Elegant Ladies’ bracelet from them and I couldn’t stop grinning all the way home.
At the end of the day, everyone was tired so we had a nice afternoon nap. A perfect ending to a Sunday! Now I can’t wait for the next markets in November!
