Are you ready? Plastic in hand? I know this sounds all too scary and bad of me to think about spending more money and hitting the sales even before the crazy Christmas season begins. I think the idea behind the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales is to save shoppers money and get their present shopping done earlier. There is definitely some logic in that!
I’m too excited because some of my favourites are going to have some very tempting sales.
Here are a few names that I will be having my alarm clock set to…
Lime Crime is offering 30% off their entire online store and FREE Shipping within the US if you spend over $50. Use code LOVE30. Plus they will be releasing the NEW Pink Velvetine. The Velvetines are becoming a cult favourite, so will you be adding this one to your collection? Plus if you are shopping with Lime Crime Australia, they are offering FREE SHIPPING.
Blackmilk clothing is representing Australia and getting in on the Cyber Monday sales with a 30% off offer on selected items. We won’t find out until the actual sale starts. But I had a sneak peek of their reversible skater dresses on the Facebook page, and they are such great value!
Another Aussie store, Sambag Sydney is also offering 40% off selected items for 2 days only. They stock pretty footwear such as sandals and ballet flats made with quality and with classic styles. They also have apparel for those down-times where you just want to kick back and relax :)
And another makeup favourite, Lipstick Republic has started their Black Friday Sale already. Just use code BLACKFRIDAY at the checkout to get 30% off your cart, this includes sale items too!
Wahhhh….so many awesome deals to behold and so little cash. I have lots of pressies to buy family and friends, but I wonder if I would pick up any worthy bargains during the sales. I may just set the alarm to allow browsing time…but will have to indeed implore some restraint with the credit card!
What sales do you have your eye on? Like any of my choices here?
Let me know if you do shop any of these picks…I’m nosey when it comes to hauls and bargain hunting :) Because I won’t be able to shop :/ Can I live vicariously through you??
HAPPY BLACK FRIDAY everyone (even though it isn’t technically a black Friday - 13th…although one is coming up in December)!!! Have fun shopping the sales.
PS/ HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all my lovely readers. I am thankful for your support for following me thus far!
Happy Weekend guys! My week began with the hype of the Melbourne Cup, that left me with $40 less (that’s why I don’t gamble! Grrr….) and a few issues that happened with Lil Miss S at school. Lil Miss S is a sweet, kind and a model student who likes to do her best in school. She is also popular and that means there are girls who don’t want to share her with others. Lil Miss S has had to learn to be assertive this week and I am proud of her.
It has been a challenging week for me, learning the throws of parenting. Learning that gambling is a bad habit! And learning how to do BAS (Business Activity Statements) on my own…surrounded by mountains of paperwork and bills! It was about time to reward myself :)
Not too long ago Facial Co was having a 20% off sale at their online store. I have been looking forward to placing my first order with them but was waiting for the right specials to come along.
I spent enough to qualify for FREE shipping which I believe was $199 (rather high, but the skincare I purchased took me over the limit anyway). And now they have dropped the minimum spend of $30 to qualify for FREE Shipping. This is their way of bringing the Christmas spirit a little early to their customers. So start your early Christmas shopping now! But this is for a limited time only, until 12th December 2013.
And here I share the goodies I got myself…
What do you think of the haul?
- Alpha-H Liquid Gold Radiance 30ml + dropper
- Alpha-H Liquid Gold Rejuvenating Cream 50ml
- MOROCCANOIL Weightless Hydrating Mask 250ml
- Clarisonic Replacement Brush Heads
- THE FACE Beauty Book - Spring Edition
- A Coca Cola Chupa Chup (yum!)
- 2 FREE samples, Decleor Paris Excellence De L’age night cream and Dermlogica Age reversal eye complex
With Summer almost here, my skin and hair has been screaming out for attention. So I ‘invested’ in some luxe products to help boost moisture and vitamins in my hair and skin. The current skincare that I am using hasn’t been able to combat my pigmentation issue.
I chose to start using Alpha-H because I heard lots of positive reviews about the range and thought to give it a try. I am starting to incorporate more anti-aging skincare as I head into my 30s, and with 6 years of not a proper shut-eye of sleep…the tell-tale signs are showing up on my face. I hope to get back the radiance I once had!
If you are looking to try out Alpha-H liquid Radiance, Facial Co is currently having a BUY 1 GET 1 FREE offer. You can buy two for AUD$57.50 here.
I made the purchase, because I couldn’t give up such a tempting offer!
I may just do a before and after post about my experience with Alpha-H so you can see the difference. Would you be interested in that?
I also got the Moroccan Oil Hair mask for the same reason, because I heard lots of great reviews on this particular product. And my bayalage hair is looking a bit sorry on the ends. And I needed to change my Clarsonic brush head, because it was looking an icky-yellowish colour. Ewww..and I bought the Sensitive brush head this time.
Hope you are all having a great weekend!
I’m looking forward to some catch up time with my friends tomorrow over brunch. What do you have going on this weekend? I want to know!

This is the perfect time of the year to do some serious culling and start selling your unworn, unwanted clothing, accessories and home wares to de-clutter and start the Holiday season fresh! When you think of it it’s not so far away…and I’m referring to the Christmas holidays!
Is it really too soon to start thinking and prepping for the Summer festive season? Not really when you think there are only 11 Saturdays away! This is the right time get some cash back into your pocket and get prepared financially for the ‘crazy’ season. It is better to be ready so that you won’t hurt the wallet too much and keep the credit card debt down.
Here are some steps/tips to get you started on your financial quest:
1. Sort out what you want to keep, give away or sell
This is probably the hardest part! Because this is time when you have do a little bit of convincing yourself and changing the way you feel about the surplus of items you have. It is also coming to terms of you aren’t going to use it, so best it go to a better home to be loved.
If you end up with a whole bunch of stuff to sell, you can opt for one or more selling methods. Here are a couple you can consider:
Sometimes it can be more worthwhile to give it away for FREE or donate it to the Salvos. You don’t want to spend too much time and energy selling if it will only get you a few coins in your pocket.
3. Get snap happy!
Take lots of photos of the items you want to sell and some selfies while your at it! Use your smartphone, your DSLR or your pocket digital camera. Take a close up, take a full shot and then crop if you need. The photo can really make an impression on a buyer. Use photo editing software such as Adobe Photoshop, but most smart phones will have this function anyway.
4. Be honest and get your sale skills ON
Honesty is best when you are describing your items for sale. You don’t want hide that the Camilla and Marc skirt has a small hole that ‘no one can see’. Or the beauty cream has ‘never been opened’ but it actually has been. However keep details short and succinct, because shoppers will enquire further if they are interested. Keep to basics and any important information that you would probably want to know if you were buying the item yourself.
5. Pricing to attract customers
Try to price items for a quick sale. This may be difficult if you have an emotional attachment to the item. But think of it as going to a better home, used instead of hanging in your wardrobe. If it is a branded label and relatively new, you can price it below RRP or give it an attractive discount. It is really up to you!
So what did you think of those steps? What will you be selling?
Please share some of your money-saving, selling tips here.
Good luck guys, let us be smart with our money together and have a stress-free holiday season :)
Have a relaxing Sunday!
Hi guys, how was your weekend? Hope you got up to lots and relaxed too.
I want to share my latest purchase…and this was a much needed update to my sad and sorry looking wallet. I didn’t really think to change my wallet, until I thought this is probably a reflection of my spending habits and also it may be causing bad luck or bad ‘feng shui’ to carry such a poor looking wallet.
My old black Olga Berg served me well…it will be sad to say goodbye to such an old friend. We had many good times out shopping together. And I saw that Marcs was having a sale during my birthday so I thought..why not update my prime accessory with a gorgeous red and gold detailed wallet.
The Olga Berg travelled with me where ever I went, so it was only a matter of time it would fall to bits. This new one is made of leather…so hopefully it will last the wear and tear little longer. There are 16 card sleeves, a coin zipped compartment, another zip pocket on the side and a main zip to stop receipts falling out.
I found all those hidden Maccas (McDonald’s) receipts! Oops..
Do you consider your a wallet an accessory or just a necessity?
Enjoy your Monday!
What is Black Friday you ask? For those who live in the US they are very familiar with the term Black Friday as it is the day after Thanks Giving. It has become an unofficial holiday where retailers hold sales specifically for shoppers to get their Christmas shopping done. Rather than retailers being in the ‘red’ zone, they are actually turning a profit on this day and will fall within the ‘black’ zone.
For many of us, around the world the term ‘Black Friday’ is known as Friday 13th or an unlucky Friday. But these are all silly superstitions whether you believe it or not! And if ‘Black Friday’ is a labelled a SALE day for Americans, shouldn’t the rest of us take advantage of completing our Christmas shopping on time too? We can brave the sales online without having to put up with the rowdy, wild-eyed bargain hunters that have sharpened elbows and stompy boots.
Please raise your hand if you are super organized for Christmas :)
Let the shopping begin! From makeup, to fashion, to stationary. Here are some Black Friday sales to check out:
That reminds me I have to get a calendar and diary for next year! I am such a stationary addict…and I love to be organised before the new year rings in.
Get more bang for your buck this Black Friday! :) Sales start today Thursday 22/11 and will end on Monday 26/11.
What will you be shopping for this Christmas?
6 days and counting…till Spring time that IS! OMG…I can’t contain my excitement, I was just staring out of my kitchen window yesterday evening and noticed that the sun was setting a little bit later. My heart fluttered a tiny bit just because of it! I’m such a ‘warm weather’ person, my toes are getting tired of these cold tiles and showering has become annoying! The hot water is nice, but getting out is horrible, I dread that ‘teeth chattering’ feeling.
Any ho…what a better time to update your wardrobe with a Spring outfit because The Iconic is offering their customers 25% off your purchase for this weekend only. No need to use a code, just shop! You have until Sunday midnight to finalise your cart :)
The Iconic also offers free overnight shipping (on Australian orders), so you can’t go wrong! But if it EVER does go wrong (for example your toosh is a little snug in those skinny jeans after Winter feasting) they offer a free returns policy, yep they pay for your return shipping fee!
**OOPS I Forgot to include the code!!! SORRY!! (Baby brain is still around). Use coupon code SPRING25NOW at the checkout
Here you can watch their latest advertisement, you may have come across this whilst watching the telly.
What do you think is the hottest trend for Spring/Summer’12?
Enjoy your weekend lovelies!
It seems every where I turn, I am stuck in a time warp that has sent me through time to the 1940s. The ‘Peplum’ is back! Although it originates from the 19th century, it had become very popular in the 1940s and 1980s, now it’s crept back into the fashion limelight! A peplum is basically a piece of flared ruffle attached to the waist of a jacket, top or bodice.
Its purpose is to define the waist making it appear smaller and accentuate the bottom curves! A peplum adds a feminine touch to a suit jacket and is gorgeous when accompanied with a pair of high heel pumps. It will transform the boring power suit to one that is ready to rule that conference room!

And here are some sweet peplums that I found online:
*Psst…just letting you know that Mango is having 70% off sale at the moment. And French Connection is having 75% off end of season Summer sale!
Peplums are definitely making a BIG comeback this Spring/Summer 2012, so get ready for the next season by grabbing a bargain from one of these international sales!
Have fun dressing up in peplums :)
Cath Kidston is currently have up to 50% off on their online store. One of their signature pieces is their oil cloth bags. These are available with 30% off for a limited time only. I have always wanted to own a Cath Kidston bag for the stunning fabric and the Vintage design, but I think a new nappy bag has to come first! The designs are about 'Mixing the whimsical, the classic and the nostalgic' . There are some bags in pretty pastel shades that bring the ‘Spring’ mood a little earlier ;) Here are some of my picks from the sale, there are loads more to check out on the website.
Do you own more than one everyday/Main bag?
